There has been an Illinois wrongful death lawsuit filed regarding the death of Christopher Anderson, a 27-year-old Waukegan man.

Anderson was shot shot and killed by Highland Park Police at Highland Park Hospital on November 3, 2014, after, according to authorities, Anderson drew a gun while hospital workers and police officers were present.

The wrongful death lawsuit has been filed by Venus Anderson, the mother of Christopher Anderson.

Illinois Lawsuit Filed Over Death In Fire

There has been an Illinois wrongful death lawsuit filed regarding a 2013 fatal house fire in Chicago’s Austin neighborhood.

The lawsuit, that was filed in Cook County Circuit Court, was filed regarding the death of Tamisha Davidson, 18.  Davidson was found dead in the house following the fire.  The lawsuit was filed by her sister, and the defendant is Germaine Murdock-Fletcher, who the lawsuit says owned and managed the property.

The lawsuit claims include that  Murdock-Fletcher was negligent in allowing fire hazards, which included a “misused” space heater.  The lawsuit also alleges that as owner she failed to provide adequate smoke detectors or fire alarms.

Wrongful Death Suit Filed Regarding Fatal 2013 Crash

There has been an Illinois wrongful death lawsuit filed in Cook County Circuit Court on behalf of William Brunson, 39, who died during a Chicago crash on January 26, 2013.

The lawsuit was filed Thursday (January 22, 2015) against the driver of the vehicle (Delia Aguila) who fatally struck Brunson as well as his girlfriend, Victoria Means, 34.  The underlying fatal accident on January 26, 2013 is described in the January 29, 2013 dnainfo.com article titled “Humboldt Park Woman Charged with DUI in Fatal Crash.”

The lawsuit is described in the January 22, 2015 Chicago Sun-Times article titled “Woman sued for 2013 fatal hit-and-run crash.”  An excerpt:

Aguila pleaded guilty in December 2013 to reckless homicide and leaving the scene of the accident, the Sun-Times previously reported. She never had a driver’s license and didn’t have one at the time of the crash, prosecutors said.

The suit filed Thursday is asking for $50,000 in damages for the crash, blaming Aguila for Brunson’s wrongful death. The suit claims Aguila failed to keep a proper lookout or sound a horn when her vehicle approached the couple.

Lawsuit Regarding Dog Attack Injuries

dog attack in Caseyville (Southern Illinois) has led to an Illinois personal injury lawsuit regarding the alleged injuries suffered as a result of the attack.

The attack happened as a man was walking his dog and he was attacked by two bulldogs on August 17, 2014.

The suit claims the hospital was negligent for failing to properly monitor the patient, failing to order the proper monitoring while receiving Dilaudid, failing to take his vital signs between 10 p.m. Jan. 17 and 6 a.m. Jan. 18, 2013, failing to discuss admission to the ICU with the patient’s attending physician and failing to properly program the pump that administers the medication.

The suit is asking for damages for medical care for the rest of James Charnas’ life, pain and suffering, loss of a normal life and nursing home care for the rest of his life. The suit includes three counts but does not ask for a specific amount of money.

Wrongful Death Lawsuit Filed Against Illinois Man

A 2013 fatal car accident has become the source of a wrongful death lawsuit filed against an Illinois man.  Other defendants are also included in the lawsuit.

The underlying accident happened on October 12, 2013, and involves a tractor driven at night by Daniel Wayne Burnett Jr., 28, of Quincy.  The tractor had a rear-mounted 52-foot-long agitator.  This tractor was “rear-ended” by a SUV driven by a 16-year-old girl (Emma Ritchey of New London), and the impact of the agitator piercing the SUV’s windshield instantly killed the girl.
