Whenever a Chicago dog attack occurs, there is the possibility of significant harm. As seen in various incidents covered by the media, as well as the Illinois dog attacks discussed on this site, dogs that attack people can lead to many types of serious injuries. While some incidents result in a single dog bite, other attacks cause far greater injuries. Of note, many of these vicious dog attacks happen without the person attacked provoking the dog.
In addition, there have been a significant number of dog attacks that have led to fatalities.
For serious dog attacks in which injuries are not fatal, extensive injuries can occur. In many of these vicious dog attacks, disfigurement – including scarring – has occurred.
Medical bills and other costs resulting from these attacks can be substantial. Given these injuries and the accompanying costs and hardships that result from such attacks, victims of serious dog attacks often have a significant need for injury compensation.
