Construction Worker Fatally Falls From Wicker Park Building

Fatal accidents that happen in the workplace, as well as those that occur in construction, can happen for various reasons.  Some of these reasons include poor training, lack of clear communication, improper safety procedures, worker error, and faulty equipment.

One example of a fatal construction accident happened on Friday (September 23, 2016) morning in Chicago’s Wicker Park neighborhood.  The fatal accident involved a 54-year-old construction worker who fell off of the third floor of a building that was under construction in the 1600-block of West Division Street.

An excerpt from the September 23, 2016 article titled “Construction worker dies after 3-story fall in Wicker Park“:

A source said the worker may have been helping to unload building material from a lift bucket through a window area.

Additional details regarding this fatal Chicago construction accident can be seen in a variety of media sources, including the article mentioned above, as well as the September 24 CBS Chicago article titled “Death Of Worker Who Fell From Wicker Park Building Ruled Accident.”
