A fatal ATV-dirt bike collision happen Saturday night (February 11, 2017) in DeKalb County.
According to the DeKalb County’s Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred on Saturday night at 7:37 p.m. on Cherry Road west of Bucks Road. At that time, one man on a Honda ATV (with its lights on) collided with another man riding a Yamaha dirt bike, which didn’t have lights on. The collision was a “head-on” collision.
The man riding the ATV was identified as Dakota M. Sikula, 21, of Hampshire. The rider of the dirt bike was identified as Douglas W. Wallace Jr., 21, of Kirkland.
The accident led to the death of two men. Both men died at the accident scene.
This fatal crash is under investigation by the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office as well as the DeKalb County Coroner’s Office.
