On this site there have been a number of injuries discussed that have occurred on improperly maintained sidewalks. These injuries have occurred in a number of areas, including Chicago. Other accidents caused by improperly maintained infrastructure (such as light poles, streets, and sewers) have also been featured. These posts are typically listed in the “slip and fall” category.
Many of these accident injuries lead to lawsuits. While there are many reasons why a lawsuit may be filed, typically those who have been injured seek compensation for various expenses, pain and suffering, and other related hardships caused by the accident injuries.
A recent lawsuit filed in the Circuit Court of Cook County, filed against the City of Chicago, alleges that an accident injury occurred on a city sidewalk.
The lawsuit is featured in the Cook County Record article of November 10, 2016, titled “City of Chicago accused of being liable for woman’s fall injuries.” An excerpt:
Ollie Mason filed a complaint on Nov. 4 in Cook County Circuit Court against the city, alleging the city failed to keep the sidewalk free of any hazards that could cause an accident.
As seen in the article, gravel on the sidewalk appears to have been a factor in the fall on the sidewalk that caused accident injuries.
Additional details can be seen in the sources mentioned above.
