A man was attacked by pit bulls Wednesday (October 31, 2018) in Chicago’s West Englewood neighborhood.  According to news accounts, the elderly man who was attacked suffered injuries to his hands and shoulder, and according to a witness was extensively bleeding following being attacked by pit bulls.  The victim was hospitalized.

As seen in the Illinois dog attacks discussed on this site, dogs that attack people can lead to many types of serious injuries.  While some attacks result in a single dog bite, other attacks cause far more extensive injuries and harm.   Many of these dog attacks – such as the incident discussed above in which a man was attacked by pit bulls – happen without the person attacked provoking the dog in any way.

If extensive injuries occur, medical bills and other costs resulting from an attack can be substantial.  Many dog attack victims seek injury compensation for their medical costs, pain, and other hardships through the filing of a personal injury lawsuit.

Additional details and possible updates concerning the incident in which a man was attacked by pit bulls as well as the broader issue of dog attacks can be seen in the sources mentioned above.
