Pedestrian Accident Involving Serious Head Injury

Head injuries have been discussed frequently on this site.  Head injuries are particularly problematic from an overall health perspective for many reasons.  Among the more worrisome aspect of head injuries is that the long-term health impact of various types of head injuries is, in many cases, unclear.

During accidents, there are many different types of head injuries that can occur.  Among common injuries are concussions.  However, other types of traumatic brain injuries (TBI) can occur.

Any time a head injury occurs, it is recommended that one should have it immediately assessed by a qualified medical professional.  Head injuries can often be serious, and in many cases fatal.  More information with regard to head trauma can be seen on the Traumatic Brain Injuries page.

Recent vehicle and pedestrian accidents in Illinois, including those in the Chicago area, have involved various types of head injuries.

One pedestrian accident that involved a head impact happened on March 16, 2016.  The specific incident is discussed in the post titled “Arlington Heights Pedestrian Accident Injures Boy.”

In this pedestrian accident, a boy suffered a blow to the head when he was struck by a car and his head hit the vehicle.  The injuries included bleeding on the brain.

If you are involved in an accident in which your injuries include hitting your head, various types of head injuries can occur.  Concussions and their “danger signs” are further discussed on the “Concussions” page.
