As discussed on the “Illinois Dog Bites” page, there are many instances of people being bitten by dogs on an annual basis.

As seen in the individual incidents of Illinois dog attacks discussed on this site, dogs that attack and bite people can cause many types of serious injuries.  Some attacks result in a single dog bite that may or may not require hospitalization. However, serious dog attacks can cause far more extensive injuries and other types of harm.   Many of these dog attacks happen even though the person attacked does not provoke the dog in any manner.

For those dog attacks that cause extensive injuries, substantial medical bills and other costs can occur.  In many instances, dog attack victims seek injury compensation to cover these costs and other hardships through the filing of a personal injury lawsuit.
